Action City Beaver Creek Reserve Beaver Creek Reserve is a special place where you can share, explore, experience and learn about the rich natural diversity of Wisconsin's Chippewa Valley. The Reserve includes a nature center, butterfly house, observatory, youth camp, nature store, citizen science center, field research station and charter science research school. Children's Museum of Eau Claire The Children's Museum of Eau Claire is an interactive environment for children and their grown-ups that inspires imagination, discovery, creativity & the love of learning. Cabin Ridge Rides Cabin Ridge Rides is a 400 acre recreational facility offering a wide range of activities from horse drawn carriage rides along Paint Creek or horse drawn sleight rides in the winter. Families can ride through the woods and cut their own Christmas tree. Bonfires, picnics and meals also available. Activities for all size groups of people. The Chippewa Valley Museum One of the best ways to discover the exciting and intertwining stories of Wisconsin’s Chippewa Valley; Award-winning exhibits, beautifully preserved historic structures on the grounds, fun activities, a working turn-of-the-century ice cream parlor, and more. Augusta had been a town for only 8 years and was just a pioneer community. See for yourself what it was like. The Dells Mill Pond is also a great place to fish all year round. Motorized boats are not allowed. It may even be possible to witness the birth of a lamb. Heyde Center for the Arts Featuring art shows, theatre and dance, the Heyde Center for the Arts has something for everyone. Irvine Park Zoo A great outdoor zoo home to bears, cougars, bobcats, buffalo, elk, whitetail deer, monkeys, peacocks, pot belly pigs, donkeys and many more animal friends. Also numerous playgrounds, pavilions and picnic tables as well as a fountain for children (or adults) to play in. The Christams season brings about a spectacular light display in the park. James Newman Clark Bird Museum The museum is open to the public weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. when the university is in session. L.E. Phillips Planetarium Shows: Each show presents an entertaining and educational topic and includes information about the current night sky. Paul Bunyan Logging Camp Museum The museum is open daily from 10 am - 4:30 pm, May 1st until September 30th. The fee is $4 for adults and $2 for children (up to age 17). Joint tickets for the Paul Bunyan Logging Camp and the Chippewa Valley Museum are available for the discount rate of $7 per adult and $3 per child.
